It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the chance.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her newest gem.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the right-hander was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was out the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
